NTT DoCoMo Produces 4G Handset Prototype

According to a recent announcement by the Japanese telecom NTT DoCoMo, the company has manufactured a prototype 4G mobile phone. It stated that the prototype has a transmission speed 2,500 times faster than the company's existing FOMA 3G services, and that the phone was successful in receiving 32 high-definition videos simultaneously when driving in car at 20kph. NTT DoCoMo plans to launch commercial 4G handsets by 2010. Besides high-definition video, 4G models are expected to enable users to browse the Internet and to listen to CD-quality music.
